About Midlands Design Studio
Midlands Design Studio was founded out of the recognition of a need for affordable web development and software development services.
Julian has been in the information technology field for over ten years. After earning his Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in Information Systems, in 1999, he went on to lecture at Varsity College, training students in the first and second years of the Unisa Information Systems courses. In his time at Varsity College, he was appointed the position of National Examiner for these two courses. In addition to this he also trained in Visual Basic programming and End User Computing.
Following the time at Varsity College, Julian went on to become a systems analyst programmer for a small Pietermaritzburg based software development house. It was here that he honed his skills as a database designer, systems analyst, and programmer.
After a period of approximately 7 years, Julian went on to head up the technology development department of a well-known sponsorship procurement business, thereafter realising that the only way in which to further himself and be of benefit to the business community was to form his own business and offer solutions that were not hindered by corporate tunnel vision.
Over the years Julian has developed and maintained software and web applications in a wide variety of business fields. These systems included short term insurance software, stock management systems, time and attendance systems and online entry systems for events such as the Maritzburg Marathon and Dusi Canoe Marathon, and administrative systems for the debt counselling sector.
Skilled in developing in numerous database platforms and programming languages, and experienced in identifying business requirements, Julian is able to pin point solutions that are unique, cost effective, and complimentary to business procedures.
If you need someone to take a fresh look at how technology can benefit your business, then Midlands Design Studio is the answer.
